Haven

Haven is a public library application where the user is able to use a public library card to log in and access thousands of ebooks. Each account has the option of creating multiple reader profiles. Haven provides recommendations based on past reads, favorites, and top sellers. A large focus was put on the user interface and user experience of the app’s navigation. Extensive research was done before any user interface design occurred into pre-existing similar public library applications.

The branding of the application was intended to be colorful and bright to get users engaged without becoming overwhelming. The color teal was chosen to represent the mix of blue and green. Blue is associated with understanding and green is associated with growth, both of which represent the core values of Haven. The Haven logo not only represents the name of the application but also resembles a bookmark icon.
